Three's Class

We know that children learn best at this age by doing. We also know that young children are explorers and discoverers. They are actively interested in learning about the world around them. We support this by providing an atmosphere rich in new experiences, full of possibilities and the time and freedom to explore them. Many opportunities for creative expression, intellectual, and emotional growth are provided through hands-on arts and language experiences. Music, puppetry, dramatic play, open-ended visual arts with a variety of media, construction, creative movement, dance, literature, cooking, science activities, blocks, puzzles, manipulative, and sensory play are all examples of the kinds of experiences that can be found in the three's class.

The learning environment of the Cedar Hills Co-op Kindergarten invites the children to participate in concrete experiences that help them learn concepts and develop academic skills while encouraging curiosity and exploration. Reading, writing, math, science, movement, art, music, drama, listening and speaking are interwoven in a curriculum designed to be intriguing and responsive to five and six year old children.
